Carly Street is an award-winning English screenwriter, producer, director, journalist, and playwright known for her rich, genre-spanning storytelling and bold visual imagination.Born in Cheshire, England, Carly completed her first feature screenplay at just 14. Her early talent was recognized when a short script she wrote at age 12 won The Cheshire Youth Film Project in 2005, leading to a full production that featured her original artwork, character designs, and makeup ideas. The project earned national attention, including a Blue Peter badge and segment. With a background in script editing, set and production design, and costume, Carly's career has woven together a unique blend of artistic skill and cinematic storytelling. In 2011, her short script Fragile Storm won the inaugural Palm Street Films LLC contest. The film starred legendary actor Lance Henriksen and Mackenzie Mason, going on to screen at over 20 festivals and win 14 awards including Best Screenplay.In 2012, her science fiction romance feature Pages of Time was sold under option to a UK production company. That same year, Carly combined her passion for motorsport and writing, covering Touring Cars, Formula One, World Endurance Championship, and more. Her journalism led her to the pit lane alongside F1 legends including Mark Webber, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, and Bruno Senna.She later developed a science fiction TV series and a mystery-crime web series starring UK actress Terri Dwyer, with whom she also collaborated on the short film The Intruder.Since 2018, Carly has been a key creative force behind Resurrection Films LLC, a production company dedicated to bold, atmospheric storytelling.Under the banner of Resurrection Films LLC, Carly has contributed to a diverse slate of award-winning and critically acclaimed projects. These include The Curious Case of the Murder That Wasn't, a mind-bending alternative reality spoof that was nominated at 16 festivals and won 14 awards; the feature films Dark Winter and Collapse; and the evocative short films Imitation of Life and The Dark Road. Although not directly involved in its creation, the multi-award-winning documentary Millennium After the Millennium was produced under the Resurrection Films banner-and it was through this project that Carly was able to fulfill a lifelong dream: visiting the set of The X-Files revival as a guest, watching an episode being filmed alongside the show's creator and her greatest writing inspiration, Chris Carter. Additional titles developed under the company include Echoes of the Unknown and Behind the Smoke and Mirrors, as well as the critically acclaimed docu-series Haunted Objects. Carly has also published two volumes of original plays and stories-The Dark Side of Acting Up Vol. One and Vol. Two-further highlighting her creative versatility. Since 2020, Carly co-hosts the noir-focused podcast The Speakeasy Noircast with director Jason D. Morris. The show, which explores classic and contemporary noir films, has surpassed 37,000 streams and ranks #47 on the Best Classic Movie Podcasts list-an impressive feat for an independently run series.In 2024, her work was selected as part of the Peregrine Collection, a global cultural archive sent to the Moon. Alongside 35,000 artists, writers, and creators from 162 countries and 67 Indigenous nations, her creative legacy now resides in a time capsule launched via United Launch Alliance's Vulcan Centaur and Astrobotic's Peregrine Lander.
