Alayna Edwards ACTRA Alayna Edwards is a young Canadian actress, best known for her starting roles in Under The Banner of Heaven and Hey Viktor!. In the fall of 2024 Alayna filmed There's No Way Out (2025) as Briar, alongside Marcus Rosner, Elizabeth Longshaw, Emily James, Stafford Perry and Nikki Rae Hallow. There's No Way Out (2025) will premiere worldwide on April 11, 2025 on Lifetime. There's No Way Out (2025) is a story about when two sisters Juniper and Briar, emerge from the woods under mysterious circumstances (Briar being gravely ill). A nurse-Shannon River's-life is upended as she decides to take them in under temporary foster care. She is plunged into a world of legal disputes and threats from their biological parents, as the secrets of the girls' past are slowly revealed. The sisters, Juniper and Briar, will learn to navigate trust and fear, as they confront the demons of their past. Alayna was recurring as Sam's Girl in Under The Banner Of Heaven and as Young Kate in Hey Viktor! Alayna went on to film several short films where she was a supporting actress in Painting Guilt, a lead and worked on graphic design in Little Fangs(2024), a lead in Queen Molly(2025) and a principal actor in Mayr (2025). Alayna was born in the rural town of Burin, Newfoundland and later moved to western Canada. She first discovered her love for acting and singing while taking part in classes at Stagecoach musical theatre in Coquitlam, BC. At the age of 8, Alayna started acting classes online and her passion for the arts has developed and grown from there. In her spare time, Alayna loves doing gymnastics, dancing, singing (with a passion for musical theatre), playing the uke, writing stories, songs and scripts, drawing, doing martial arts and/or just hanging out with her family and friends.
