At his best as a secondary lead in both stage and screen comedies and musicals, he began his career at the now defunct Teatro Valle in Rome. By 1949, he had also debuted on screen with small roles in Adam and Eve (1949) and Totò le moko (1949). Enzo was also noted as dubbing artist for English-speaking stars like Stan Laurel, Michael J. Pollard, Donald Moffat and Laurence Naismith. From the early 1980s, he served as the artistic director of La Ribalta theatre school in Rome.
