Lauren Scholtz is a South African screenwriter, actress and independent filmmaker with a BA Honours in Film Studies (UCT) and over 15 years' experience as an Ad Agency TVC Producer. Lauren transitioned from production to screenwriting a few years ago and has worked as a storyliner on Troukoors S1 (Showmax) and Arendsvlei (kykNET). She's currently a storyliner on kykNET telenovelas: Diepe Waters & Skemergrond. Some of her acting credits include featured character roles in Arendsvlei, Blood and Water, The Devil Speaks, Die Sentrum, American Monster & Heart of the Hunter. Lauren has just made her directorial debut with Die Brasse Vannie Kaap feature documentary currently streaming on Showmax. She has recently been awarded Best Director - Documentary at the Berlin Indie Film festival.
