Robert

Robert Steffey earned notoriety in 1989 from his role in _One Year in a Life of Crime Part (1989) (TV)_. The documentary, produced by often-lauded New York filmmaker and video- journalist Jon Alpert, followed a trio of career criminals, Rob, Mike and Freddy. In gritty, cinema verite style, Alpert filmed every aspect of the men's lives for 12 months, from their daily jaunts to the Jersey suburbs to pull shoplifting gigs, to the sometimes wretched gloom of their domestic lives. When the final package debuted on the cable channel in 1989, it was nominated for several industry awards. Alpert kept in contact with the men, and in 1998, HBO broadcast Part II of the documentary, which dealt with the men trying to reform their lives. It won Alpert his 11th Emmy award. He is survived by 2 daughter, Jaclyn Steffey, and the other unknown. His daughter Jaclyn is now 22 years old.
