Pooja Shyam Prabhat

Pooja Shyam Prabhat is an Indian theatre and screen actress born in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, and raised in Bijnor, Roorkee, and Indore. Pooja specialized in industrial and production engineering at SGSITS Indore. During her seventh semester, she received a pre-placement offer and subsequently worked in the manufacturing industry, specifically in the tractor sector, as a supply chain specialist.She left her job and a substantial paycheck behind to pursue her passion for film and theater.In Mumbai, she is working with the Hoshruba Theatre Repertory, which primarily focuses on bringing literary texts to life on stage. She has always been inspired by the process of creating a play or film and bringing a story's vision to fruition. She has worked across various verticals of these mediums to gain a deeper understanding.Apart from her role as an actor on stage, Pooja also served as an associate director for the latest production by the Hoshruba Repertory. This captivating play is based on the life of the iconic poet Sahir Ludhianvi. The research and development process for this production has been an immersive experience.Pooja made her OTT acting debut with the Netflix show Maamla legal hai as Varsha.Before this, she had been a part of a few short narrative projects. One of them is "Sonsi". Which won the National Award for Best Cinematography and was also qualified for the Oscars as a winning entry from BISFF. She has been a part of various television and digital commercials as an actress.Her JKC #AndarSeSundar campaign received widespread recognition for its heartfelt story and performance. The theme song was both sung and composed by the band Indian Ocean.Pooja lives in Mumbai.
