Nikolai Kazantcev

Nikolai Kazantsev was born in Tomsk (Siberia) just before the end of the USSR. An economist by profession, he became interested in filmmaking after moving to Moscow where, together with his wife Valentina Churaeva, he founded Rich PR, a successful public relations company. He also co-produced "Oleg" a feature length documentary and produced "Butterfly Mania," a feature film. When filming advertising shorts for clients and he discovered that his true passion was for color grading. He immediately enrolled at Moscow's Reel Time Color Grading School, took courses from Vitaliy Buzhan who is considered one of Russia's best colorists and later via zoom took classes with respected Waqas Qazi who is based in California. In 2021 he was accepted for membership in the international Independent Colorist Guild which appointed him their US representative in 2021. Since relocating with his family to California in December 2020, he has dedicated himself to becoming a top colorist.
