She went on to deliver a powerful performance as Angelina in The Messenger, working under acclaimed director Daniel Nettheim in the television adaptation of Markus Zusak's bestselling novel. On the big screen, Karelina starred as Zara in the feature film trilogy Ascendant, securing her reputation as a young actress with exceptional dramatic ability.
